Company history

On February 1st, 1953 the precision engineer master Hans Pfefferkorn founded together with the merchant Albert Gerhard the company Pfefferkorn & Co in Frankfurt/Main. The company was first organised in the legal form of a limited partnership (German „KG“). In June 1956 Albert Gerhard left the company because of his death. In his place Bernd Pfefferkorn entered the company as a limited partner, from1964 on also in an active way.
At the beginning of 1970 the merchant Viktor Reiter took over the commercial administration of the company. As from January 1st, 1971 Bernd Pfefferkorn and Viktor Reiter were taken into the „KG“ as personally liable participators besides Hans Pfefferkorn.
In the same year, the company moved from Frankfurt/Main to Simmern in the region Hunsrück, where on August 2nd, 1971 production started with 15 people on a 17.000 m2 estate in the newly developed industrial area. On January 1st, 1982 the limited partnership was renamed into Pfefferkorn & Reiter KG. At the same time, a limited liability company (German GmbH) was founded which continues the business of the former KG.
With the entry of Markus Reiter (1984), Frederic Reiter (1995) and Tobias Pfefferkorn (2008) into the company, the third generation of the family-owned business became active.
Due to a strong upward trend with annual growth rates of up to 50%, the halls and office spaces were expanded several times between 1971 and 1995, the tooling and injection moulding department are equipped continuously with modern and premium machines so that the whole machinery is always on the latest state-of-the-art. For all 47 members of staff training and further education are offered continuously.
